Cheetah 2014

Bit African Wild Life, Mammals, Portfolio

The Cheetah is a felid like the lion and the normal cat and has many traits and behaviors that make it one of the most specialized members of the family.
In particular, cheetahs have some traits that make them similar to canids such as long paws, with narrow, cylindrical ends and only partially retractable claws instead of short, compact and equipped with sharp, retractable claws as in most other felids. Such paws are suited to a hunting style based on the pursuit of fast, light prey rather than their physical overpowering. The partially social behavior that these animals (particularly the males) may display also differs from the solitary habits of most felid species.
